My name is Ruth Flavin. I have a passion for writing and arranging music for the harp. I have a background in teaching which is reflected in my books which cater for all skill levels, allowing less experienced players to learn and play alongside more experienced musicians. Each piece has a simple part and a more developed part. The books can be used for solo playing, for duets and for groups. I enjoy adding countermelodies to the tunes to make playing with others even more enjoyable. In addition to arranging traditional tunes, I also compose original pieces often inspired by the natural beauty of the Scottish Borders where I live.
